Free magazine back issue

4 01 2013

In my day job I am the editor of Alphabet Soup—an Australian magazine for kids aged 6 to 12 who love reading and creative writing.

Over on Alphabet Soup’s blog, they are giving away a free back issue to the first 200 people who request one before 4 February 2013.  Do  you know any teachers, librarians or friends who might like a copy? Maybe you’d like a copy yourself?

Head on over there to find out how. (And tell your friends!)

Thank you!

Literacy Lava: a free literacy resource for parents and teachers

29 09 2010

"Literacy Lava, issue 6"Have you heard of Literacy Lava yet? There’s a pic of the current issue on the side there.

Each issue has great tips for parents, and suggestions for literacy activities to share with kids. The current issue includes articles like ‘Revving up Reluctant Readers’, ‘Father/Son Book Club’ and ‘Telling Tales with Story Stones’. (You can download issue 6 of Literacy Lava—and the good news is, it’s FREE.)

The disclosure part: Literacy Lava is edited by Susan Stephenson, aka, The Book Chook. The Book Chook writes a column for kids in Alphabet Soup magazine (where I am editor and publisher). She’s a very clever chook. 🙂
